This time of year most merchants are looking to capitalize on all those back to school shoppers with special promotions and sales. A lot of shoppers will most certainly be using the shopping engines to find those great deals. If you’re a merchant advertising on the shopping engines already, why not let them know about your special promotions? There are a number of great opportunities on the shopping engines that can potentially drive more qualified traffic to your store. SingleFeed works closely with all of the shopping engines and we recently checked in with them to find out what back to school advertising opportunities exist.Â
Most of the shopping engines support a promotional message field. This is a great way to let shoppers know about your back to school offers. SingleFeed supports the most commonly used promotional messages, but if we don’t happen to support one specific to your store, let us know and we can likely add it to our list. For any shopping engine that supports a promotional message field, use it to highlight any special offers you may have on your back to school products. Here’s an outline of who supports a promotional message field, along with additional advertising opportunities.Â
Smarter supports limited promotional messages. Smarter also offers a featured merchant spot. This spot is normally an additional .30 cents/click, but for SingleFeed merchants they are offering this spot for a discounted rate of .20/click. If you’re SingleFeed merchant and are interested in this offer, please contact us for more info.Â
PriceGrabber doesn’t support a  promotional message field, although they do support merchant coupons. They also have a back to school guide with a few different ad opportunities. Their back to school guide is located here. You can get into one of the four big boxes, the bottom tile spots, or the personal shopper guides. They charge a flat fee for the spot (fee varies on the spot) and then the normal CPC for that category. If you want more info on pricing and recommendations and are a SingleFeed merchant, please contact us for more info. Also, Pricegrabber started a new program called Product of the Day. This is a flat fee plus CPA (cost per action) program. If you’re a SingleFeed merchant, contact us for more info.Â
Nextag supports a promotional message field. There is an additional opportunity for SingleFeed merchants, but we can’t mention it here. If you are a SingleFeed merchant, please contact us for more information. Â
Shopzilla supports limited promotional messages. There is also a potential opportunity to be listed in one or more of their back to school email newsletters. If you are a SingleFeed merchant, please contact us to learn more.Â
Become supports a promotional message field. You can find out more about it here. Also, Become is running a back to school page and they have a couple advertising opportunities. If you’re interested let us know.Â
Sortprice, Yahoo Shopping, Shopping.com and Pronto all support a promotional message field. At the present they do not have any additional back to school ad opportunities.Â
Google Product Search and The Find do not support a promotional message field (although if you’re a SingleFeed merchant we do send your promotional message to Google Base as Google Base custom attribute.)Â
